Price & Warranty

The Price & Warranty tab is divided into the following sections:

·       Price Settings

·       Warranty

Price Settings

The Price Settings section lets you define the standards to calculate the price of a part. For example, you can define the unit of measurement to order or issue a part, and markup.

Tip

To view the Price Settings section, click the Price Settings link.

To edit the price settings

1.    In the Parts module, search and view a part record.

2.    Click the Price & Warranty tab.

3.    In the Price Settings section, click the Edit Price Settings link.

4.    In the Edit Price Settings dialog box, edit one or more of the following:

a.    In the Unit of Order list, select a unit of measurement you want to use to order the part. Examples of unit of order are Each, Gallons, Foot, and Pounds per Square Inch (PSI).

b.    In the Is Tax Exempt list, select an option to specify if the part is tax exempted.

c.     In the Unit of Issue list, select a unit of measurement you want to use to issue the part. Examples of unit of issue are Each, Gallons, Foot, and Pounds per Square Inch (PSI).

d.    In the Use Markup list, select the markup type as by part or by storeroom.

e.    In the Unit Multiplier box, type the amount by which you want to multiply the parts ordered to receive a desired quantity of part.

f.      In the Markup box, type the percentage amount you want to add to the true cost of the part.

5.    When finished, click one of the following:

o      Save to save the information and close the dialog box.

o      Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.

Edit Part Price

The Edit Part Price link lets you edit the unit price, shipping, and the tax cost of a newly added part or an existing part.

For a newly added part, you must specify the part quantity in the Edit Part Price dialog box. For an existing part, the available quantity of the part must be greater than zero in the inventory.

Note:  You can adjust the price of only those parts having status as active or closed.

To edit the part price

1.    In the Parts menu, search and view a part record.

2.    Click the Price & Warranty tab.

3.    In the Price Settings section, click the Edit Part Price link.

4.    In the Edit Part Price dialog box, edit one or more of the following:

a.    In the New Unit Price box, type the unit price of the part.

b.    In the New Unit Shipping box, type the unit shipping price of the part.

c.     In the New Unit Tax box, type the unit tax to be charged on the part.

d.    In the Price Adjustment Reason list, select a reason for the part price adjustment.

e.    In the Additional Comments box, type a note about the part price adjustment.

5.    When finished, click one of the following:

o      Save to save the information and close the dialog box.

o      Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.
