Mass Update

The Mass Update Utility lets you perform a bulk update of asset and inventory field values in FASTER Web.

Performing Mass Update on Assets

Using the Mass Update Utility, you can update the value of an asset field for a group of asset records at once.

Tip

To view the Mass Update Utility page, click the Mass Update Utility link.

To perform mass update of an asset field value

1.    Click the Setup module.

2.    In the Administration Setup section, do one of the following:

o      Click next to the Manage Data option, and then click Mass Update.

o      In the Manage Data section of Administration Setup, click the Mass Update link.

The Mass Update Utility page opens.

3.    In the Asset Field list, select an asset field.

4.    In the Current Value field, enter the current value of the asset field.

5.    In the New Value field, enter the new value by which you want to replace the current value.

Note:

·       If the asset field is a drop-down list with picklist values, the Add New Value button is displayed. You can click the Add New Value button to add a new picklist value to the selected asset field. When you add a new value in the Add Picklist Value dialog box and click Save, the new value is displayed in the New Value list.

·       In the Asset Fields list, when the current value of the Meter required for Fuel or Meter required for Work Order option is set to Yes, and you want to set the New Value to No, the Optional Meter Warning dialog box displays the impact of making the required meter reading to optional. Click OK to close the Optional Meter Warning dialog box.

6.    In the Create Filter for the items to be updated section, create filters by selecting the Field, Operator, and Value to narrow the values to update.

Note:

You can also perform an advanced search of asset records by creating more filters. To create a filter, add an asset field and its value with an operator.

·       To add a filter, click

·       To remove a filter, click

·       To remove all the filters, click or Clear All

7.    Click Update Filter Results to update the result grid with matching asset records.

The updated search results are displayed in the grid.

8.    Select the check box next to the assets to which you want to apply the new value.

9.    In the Apply Mass Update to all selected results section, click Apply Update.

The new value is updated for all the selected assets.

Performing Mass Update on Inventory

Using the Mass Update Utility, you can update the value of an inventory field for a group of inventory records at once.

Tip

To view the Mass Update Utility page, click the Mass Update Utility link.

To perform mass update on inventory

1.    Click the Setup module.

2.    In the Administration Setup section, do one of the following:

o      Click next to the Manage Data option, and then click Mass Update.

o      In the Manage Data section of Administration Setup, click the Mass Update link.

The Mass Update Utility page opens.

3.    In the Inventory Field list, select a inventory field.

4.    In the Current Value field, enter the current value of the inventory field.

5.    In the New Value field, enter the new value by which you want to replace the current value.

Note: If the inventory field is a drop-down list with picklist values, the Add New Value button is displayed. You can click the Add New Value button to add a new picklist value to the selected inventory field. When you add a new value in the Add Picklist Value dialog box and click Save, the new value is displayed in the New Value list.

6.    In the Create Filter for the items to be updated section, create filters by selecting the Field, Operator, and Value to narrow the values to update.
