Reports Settings

From the Reports Settings section of the Security Settings page, you can configure the user account credentials that is used to access the reports in FASTER Web and also deploy standard reports on a report server.

Tip

To view the Reports Settings page, click the Report Settings link.

Edit Report Settings

The Edit Report Settings dialog box lets you set the domain, user name, and password to view reports in FASTER Web.

To view the Edit Report Settings page, click the Edit Report Settings link.

To edit the report viewer credentials

1.    Open the Security Settings page.

2.    In the Report Settings section, click Edit Report Settings.

The Edit Report Settings dialog box opens.

3.    In the Report Viewer Domain box, type the Report Viewer Domain.

4.    In the Report Viewer Username box, type the Report Viewer Username.

5.    In the Report Viewer Password box, type the Report Viewer Password.

6.    When finished, click one of the following:

o      Save to save the information and close the dialog box.

o      Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.

Standard Report Deployment

The Standard Report Deployment function provides the capability to deploy standard reports on a report server from FASTER Web. The report server details and the standard report definition file path are configured in the Web.config file. The standard report deployment function is available only to FASTER staff and is password protected.

Tip

To view the Standard Report Deployment page, click the Standard Report Deployment link.

Steps to deploy standard reports

1.    Open the Security Settings page.

2.    In the Reports Settings section, click the Standard Report Deployment link.

The Unlock Standard Report Deployment dialog box opens.

3.    Specify the password and click Validate.

The Standard Report Deployment page opens.

4.    In the Report Server Credential section, provide the credentials of the user having deployment rights on the report server:

  1. In the Report Server Domain box, type the report server domain name.
  2. In the Report Server User and Report Server Password boxes, type the user name and password to connect to the report server, respectively.

Note:

  • The following report server roles have deployment rights on the report server:

    • Content Manager

    • Publisher

    • My Reports

  • FASTER Web fetches the value of Report Server URL and the name of the Report Sub Folder from the Web.config file and displays in the Application Configurations section.

5.    Click the Deploy Standard Reports button.

FASTER Web validates the information specified in the Standard Report Deployment page and in the Web.config file and checks whether the Reports folder exists inside the Report Sub folder. If the Reports folder does not exist, a folder is created as {Report Sub Folder}\ {Reports Folder}.

When the reports are deployed successfully, the All standard reports are deployed successfully in the mentioned Report server message is displayed. If the deployment process encounters errors, the relevant error message is displayed.
