Resetting Begin FY Meter Reading

The Begin FY Meter Reading is the beginning month of the Fiscal Year (FY) from when the meter readings are tracked for all the active assets in FASTER Web. For example, if the beginning month of fiscal year 2015 is November, the fiscal year is from November 1, 2015 to October 31, 2016.

FASTER Web sets the Begin FY Meter Reading value automatically for one of the following circumstances:  

·       A new meter is added to an existing asset.

·       A new asset is added through the asset template.  

·       A meter is added to an incoming asset.

However, you must manually reset the Begin FY Meter Reading from the Assets Settings page for the following circumstances:  

·       The fiscal year is ended.

·       There is a change in the beginning month of the fiscal year that is not updated from the Accounting Settings page.

To reset the Begin FY Meter Reading

1.    Click the Setup module.

2.    In the Application Setup section, do one of the following:

• Click next to the Assets option, and then click Settings.
• In the Assets section of Application Setup, click the Settings link.

The Asset Settings page opens.

3.    Click the Reset Begin FY Meter Reading link.

You are redirected to the Accounting >  Manage Closeout Processes > Begin FY Meter Readings tab, where the Reset Begin FY Meter Reading dialog box opens.

4.    Select the time zone that is to be used to convert the meter transactions. By default, Global Time Zone is selected.

5.    When finished, click one of the following:

• Confirm to confirm the time zone and close the dialog box.

• Cancel to disregard any changes and close the dialog box.
